Amazon Web Service India Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst - Indirect tax, for role based in Delhi/ NCR. The candidate must be comfortable directly liaising with various business teams within the company with an aim of gaining a deep understanding of the business vision and model to develop comprehensive tax solutions in support of the business, develop tax requirements that clearly articulate such solutions, and drive the implementation of the tax requirements. This position will primarily support a variety of business teams on Indian indirect tax matters, and the ideal candidate will have experience evaluating issues specifically related to cloud business in India. This would also involve supporting SAARC geos from indirect tax perspective. This candidate will also work closely with other members of the global tax department to communicate current and future business plans, obtain cross functional tax subject matter input, and ensure coordination of cross-functional tax solutions. The ideal candidate will focus on the following:
. Tax Advisory & Strategy: Analyze business transactions and initiatives, partnering with various teams as an in-house tax advisor. Develop and evaluate GST, Customs, and other indirect tax planning opportunities and strategies, including advanced GST (ESS) and customs issues.
. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal tax teams (Direct Tax, Transfer Pricing, Controversy, Tax Reporting) and external advisors. Meet with tax authorities to explain business models and tax positions. Manage relationships with outside tax consultants on an ongoing basis and regulatory authorities on a need basis.
. Regulatory Knowledge & Analysis: Research and maintain current knowledge of India and SAARC tax laws, regulations, rulings, procedures, and court decisions. Analyze regulatory changes and communicate their impact to relevant stakeholders.
. Business Support: Provide indirect tax subject matter expertise to business lines. Review new business initiatives, identify direct tax impacts, and ideate pragmatic solutions. Provide end-to-end tax requirements for product launches, projects and business initiatives in alignment with other Amazon entities.
. Compliance & Audit Support: Prepare and manage tax reporting packages for Indian subsidiaries. Support GST, and other audits/litigations through review of submissions, documentation, and tax position analysis. Assist with managing and coordinating Indian tax compliance and reporting, developing recommendations for process improvements.
. Tax Accounting Support: Engage and provide support to the AWS accounting team on tax accounting and reconciliations.
. Technology & AI Adoption: Demonstrate tech-savviness and enthusiasm for adopting AI and automation tools to enhance tax analysis, reporting efficiency, and strategic decision-making. Stay current with emerging technologies in the tax and finance domain.
This position interacts with the company's U.S. and Indian business and support units. The ideal candidate will work effectively with cross-functional teams, communicate complex indirect tax concepts clearly to non-tax professionals, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Master's degree
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
- 4+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
