Senior Systems/Software Engineer in Routing Infrastructure Solutions

This role is responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of complex systems software that powers next-generation networking solutions at Aruba (HPE). The position requires deep systems expertise, architectural ownership, and hands-on contribution across the full software lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Software Design & Development

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug advanced systems software for enhancements and new product development.
• Build software components across operating systems, networking platforms, utilities, databases, and internet-related tools.
• Influence hardware compatibility and system-level design decisions through software expertise.

Technical Leadership & Execution

• Lead multiple project teams responsible for solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and system integration of complex platforms.
• Apply advanced subject matter expertise to solve complex technical and business problems.
• Exercise independent judgment to determine optimal technical approaches and delivery methods.

Architecture & Systems Engineering

• Define and contribute to the overall architecture of software systems for enterprise and carrier-grade products.
• Design and integrate software systems across multiple platform types into a cohesive architecture.
• Drive modernization and adoption of new technologies within the software systems organization.

Quality, Testing & Compliance

• Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with development standards and engineering guidelines.
• Define and assess software testing methodologies, including test plan creation, execution, debugging, and automation.
• Identify risks early and provide actionable feedback to improve quality and mitigate failure.

Mentorship & Engineering Excellence

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less-experienced engineers.
• Act as a technical leader across cross-organization initiatives and programs.

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Typically 814 years of experience in systems software development.
