Senior Systems Operations Engineer

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Systems Operations Engineer

In this role, you will:

• Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area

• Contribute in increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks

• Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

• Work with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolution

• Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards

• Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) in a support or operations role

  • Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and how they can be used for monitoring, automation, or predictive analysis

  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, or similar)

  • Exposure to DevOps or SRE practices

  • Experience leading small teams or acting as a technical SME

  • Background in banking or financial services environments

• • Willingness to work in shifts or on-call support, if required

  • Ability to handle production issues calmly and efficiently

  • Follow standard processes while also identifying opportunities to improve them

  • Share knowledge and support team learning

  • Maintain proper documentation and operational runbooks

  • Collaborate effectively with global teams and vendors

  • Strong years of overall IT experience in Systems Operations, Production Support, or Infrastructure Engineering

  • Strong hands-on experience in Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture, or similar roles

  • Strong experience with Autosys or enterprise job scheduling tools

  • Good working knowledge of SQL and Oracle databases

  • Experience supporting applications on Windows and Unix/Linux platforms

  • Hands-on scripting or automation experience using Python (or similar languages)

  • Experience working in an ITSM-based environment (Incident, Problem, Change, SLA management)

  • Ability to troubleshoot production issues and work under time-sensitive situations

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
