Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator with deep expertise in Microsoft Active Directory, Azure 365, Microsoft 365, Windows Server Administration, VMware, and AWS. The role involves managing enterprise-level infrastructure, ensuring security, performance, and reliability across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and manage Microsoft environments, including Active Directory, Azure 365, Microsoft 365, and Windows Server ecosystems.
- Support and maintain advanced Microsoft 365 services Mobile Device Management (MDM), Identity Management, Data Governance, and Group Policy (GPO).
- Administer virtualized environments using VMware and cloud platforms like AWS.
- Oversee vulnerability management programs and assist with remediation strategies.
- Support and manage Windows imaging processes and ensure consistent system builds.
- Manage Windows PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) and certificate management operations.
- Collaborate with end-users and vendors to troubleshoot and maintain applications and systems.
- Plan and evaluate infrastructure enhancements to support new applications, servers, and technologies.
- Maintain and monitor system performance, including intrusion detection, antivirus, and endpoint protection systems.
- Create and maintain documentation for configurations, installations, upgrades, backups/recovery, security standards, and operational procedures.
- Implement and follow best practices for system monitoring, change control, patch management, and SLA compliance.
- Assist in defining IT infrastructure policies and standards in alignment with organizational goals.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to strengthen infrastructure resilience.
- Provide Tier-3 support for escalated end-user tickets, ensuring timely resolution and adherence to SLAs.
- Train, mentor, and guide junior administrators and support engineers.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1012 years of experience in system administration, infrastructure support, or related roles.
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- Microsoft Active Directory (User/Group/OU management, GPOs, DNS/DHCP).
- Azure 365 & Microsoft 365 Administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, etc.).
- Windows Server Administration (2016/2019/2022).
- VMware Virtualization and AWS cloud environments.
- Windows PKI, certificate management, and secure communication setup.
- Experience with vulnerability management, patching, and endpoint protection tools.
- Strong knowledge of backup/recovery, disaster recovery planning, and infrastructure monitoring.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills across hybrid environments.
- Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a 247 production support environment and handle escalations independently.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Microsoft certifications such as MCSE, MCSA, or Azure Administrator Associate.
- VMware or AWS certifications.
- Exposure to automation tools (e.g., PowerShell scripting, Ansible, or Terraform).
- Knowledge of ITIL processes, service delivery management, and ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.).
Note: Must have excellent communication skills and be open to working in a 247 environment.
