The Structural Engineer serves as the primary liaison between external consultants and internal teams, ensuring structural designs align with architectural intent, budgets and regulatory codes. He / she will support site operations via detailing, RFIs and minor modifications while safeguarding compliance with approved drawings. Will assist in sourcing / selecting materials, finishes and FF&E that balance technical performance with brand aesthetics and budget constraints. Responsible for coordination with architecture, planning, billing and execution teams to enable seamless project delivery with safety, efficiency and design excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Review and Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact for external Structural Consultants.
- Critically review structural drawings to ensure they align with architectural intent, budget, BOQ and IS codes.
- Monitor the timely release of Good for Construction (GFC) drawings to prevent site delays
Value Engineering
- Analyze structural designs to identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising safety or quality & code compliance.
- Compare different structural systems (e.g., Flat Slab vs. Beam-Slab; Conventional RCC vs. PEB ) to determine the most economical and constructible solution for specific projects
Material and Furniture Selection
- Source and select appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, and fixtures within the project budget.
- Source high-end materials, finishes, and accessories that align with the brands luxury and wellness image.
- Oversee the selection process of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) to meet client requirements while staying within budget constraints.
Technical Support & Detailing
- Issue Small Details or site-specific sketches for minor structural modifications that do not require full consultant intervention.
- Resolve on-site technical queries (RFIs) related to reinforcement or structural discrepancies
Inter-Departmental Coordination
- Ensure structural elements (columns/beams) do not interfere with the aesthetic or functional aspects of the architectural layouts.
- Generate and verify Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) for budgeting and procurement.
- Conduct periodic site visits to ensure structural compliance on the ground
Key Requirements:
- B.E. / B. Tech in Civil Engineering
- Preference will be given to candidates with M. Tech in Structures
- 10 - 12 years of experience in structural design or technical coordination within a Developer firm
- Expertise in AutoCAD, STAAD Pro or ETABS, and advanced MS Excel
- Strong command over Indian Standard Codes (IS 456, IS 875, IS 1893, IS 13920), NBC and international equivalents
- Skilled in evaluating different structural systems (RCC, PEB, precast, etc.) for cost and constructability
- Ability to source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for FF&E and finishes
- Proficiency in providing quick resolutions of RFIs and on-site discrepancies.
