Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer NetApp ONTAP environments (AFF/FAS systems, SAN/NAS configurations, Storage Virtual Machines).
- Provision, configure, and maintain volumes, aggregates, and LUNs based on business requirements.
- Monitor and optimize performance of NetApp storage systems using Active IQ Unified Manager, OnCommand System Manager, or CLI/API.
- Maintain and manage SnapMirror, SnapVault, SnapCenter for data replication, backup, and recovery.
- Perform firmware upgrades, patch management, and system expansion activities.
- Implement and maintain storage security, access controls, and data protection measures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related incidents and performance issues.
- Generate capacity planning reports and forecast storage needs.
- Collaborate with VMware/Hyper-V, database administrators, and application teams to ensure seamless storage integration.
- Maintain detailed documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Support and continuously improve multi-cluster NetApp environments.
- Ensure compliance with ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in enterprise storage administration.
- Strong expertise in NetApp ONTAP (9.x or later) and NetApp hardware platforms.
- Hands-on experience with SAN/NAS protocols: NFS, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI, FC.
- Experience with SnapMirror, SnapVault, SnapCenter, MetroCluster.
- Proficiency with NetApp administration tools (System Manager, Active IQ UM, OnCommand, CLI).
- Knowledge of storage performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with VMware datastores, Microsoft Failover Clustering, and Hyper-V integration with NetApp.
- Experience in scripting for automation (PowerShell, Python, or NetApp PowerShell Toolkit).
- Understanding of data protection, backup/restore processes, and disaster recovery.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills for collaboration and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) or NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer (NCIE) certifications.
- Familiarity with other storage platforms for heterogeneous environment support.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and tools like ServiceNow.
- Experience working in regulated industries (Development, Media, financial, healthcare, government).
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
