Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Sr. Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of our Cloud Native Firewall Service for Azure. Leveraging Python, Django, FastAPI, Golang and React within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, you will evolve the core management, orchestration, and automation architecture of our cloud-native security offerings. As a technical leader, you will ensure our systemsincluding traditional microservices and complex cloud networking workflowsare resilient, scalable, and seamlessly integrated with Azure's infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end architectural design and deployment of scalable, high-availability software assets for the Cloud Native Firewall Service. This includes orchestrating microservices architectures powered by Serverless compute such as Azure Function / Container Apps, integrated via Azure API Management for secure, governed ingress. Ensuring deep alignment with Azure Virtual WAN, VNET peering, and enterprise security architectures.
- Implement best software practices, and system design approach for scalable and robust architecture for multi-region support. Utilization and knowledge of distributed cloud databases, asynchronous and event driven architecture.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics to track service health, performance metrics, and security telemetry across the global fleet.
- Design and implement robust backend services to automate the lifecycle of firewall instances across global Azure regions.
- Build and maintain high-performance API layers to bridge core IT data with cloud security telemetry and third-party management tools.
- Influence and guide the engineering team in adopting modern software development best practices to accelerate code delivery and simplify complex cloud-native refactoring tasks.
- Mentor and empower junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, applied learning, and accountability in full-stack and cloud-native domains.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend development with Python, utilizing frameworks like Django or FastAPI to build fault-tolerant microservice architectures.
- Demonstrated expertise in frontend development with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React for building high-performance management consoles.
- Expert-level proficiency in containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS - Azure Kubernetes Service).
- Proven experience integrating applications with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights for distributed tracing and performance management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Azure platform, particularly Azure Functions, Azure Networking primitives, and Resource Manager (ARM).
- Experience using Terraform, Bicep, or Ansible in a professional development environment to automate cloud resource provisioning.
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
