About our group:

We are seeking a versatile Firmware Engineer to support new technology exploration and next-generation product development. This role covers HDD Cert firmware design and development, prototyping, and system integration. You will work closely with hardware, software, and product teams go build innovative solutions from concept to commercialization.

About the role - you will:

  • Design, develop, and optimize firmware for prototypes, new features, and new product certification processes.
  • Lead and contribute to R&D initiatives targeting improvements in test process yield and test time.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented firmware [C] and software [Python] solutions.
  • Analyze test data to uncover trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop and execute test plans for validation, reliability testing, and compliance verification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams from concept to mass production.
  • Document technical findings and present results to stakeholders.

About you:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in both C and Python programming languages and data analytics tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Engineering development experience in the hard disk drive (HDD) industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proactive and self-driven with a passion for innovation and success.

Your experience includes:

  • Good to have some familiarity with HDD cert test process engineering concepts.
  • Good experience with data analytics tools and statistical analysis.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Location:

The Shugart site (named after Seagate's founder, Al Shugart) is a research and design center. Easily accessible from the One-North MRT Station, many employees choose to take mass transportation to work.
