Looking for SQL DBA L3

Exp Level: 5+ Years

Location: Hyderabad

N.P: Immediate

Mode of Work: Hybrid

Shift: 3pm to 12am

Job Description

  • Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances. Our architecture uses AG and DAG architectures.
  • Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
  • Analyse, solve, and correct issues in real-time.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Maintain and configure Transaction Replication
  • Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
  • Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
  • Perform database tuning and performance monitoring.
  • Plan and implement backup and recovery strategies with Cohesity
  • Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and processes.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
  • Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Apply data modelling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
  • Use Nutanix NDB to configure lower environments

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA or similar role.
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
  • Experience with Windows server, including Active Directory.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Flexible, team player, get-it-done personality.
  • Ability to organize and plan work independently.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.
  • MCSA, MCSE, or other related certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Oracle database administration is a plus.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) is a plus.

Core Responsibilities

  • Architectural Leadership: Responsible for physical database design, capacity planning, and high-level infrastructure strategy, including on-premise and cloud (Azure/AWS) environments.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Owns the resolution of high-severity production incidents (Sev1/Sev2) and performs deep-dive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to prevent recurring issues.
  • Advanced Performance Tuning: Conducts T-SQL code reviews, tunes complex stored procedures, and resolves deep-seated database contention issues like deadlocks and blocking.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develops custom PowerShell scripts and T-SQL automation for estate management and process improvements.
  • Mentorship: Serves as a technical authority and provides guidance to L1 and L2 DBA teams globally.
