Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect with over 8 years of experience in the manufacturing and supply chain domain. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing complex solutions involving manufacturing systems, shop floor technologies, and IT/OT integration. A deep understanding of security requirements at the shop-floor level and the ability to interconnect capabilities across the entire manufacturing and supply chain ecosystem is essential.
Key Responsibilities
What will you do in this role
- Lead the design and architecture of integrated manufacturing and supply chain solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, IT, and operations, to develop scalable and secure architectures.
- Assess, select, and integrate manufacturing execution systems (MES), shop floor systems, and automation platforms.
- Architect IT/OT convergence strategies to enable seamless data flow, real-time analytics, and process optimization across shop floor and enterprise systems.
- Evaluate and implement security controls specific to shop-floor environments, including network segmentation, access management, and compliance standards.
- Map and analyze interconnections between manufacturing capabilities, supply chain processes, and supporting technologies to optimize end-to-end workflows.
- Develop technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and solution blueprints to facilitate implementation and knowledge transfer.
- Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements impacting manufacturing and supply chain operations.
- Document or be the accountable person for architecture documentation related to project into his scope.
- Drives the notion of reusable architecture assets & standards
- Performs technical oversight of implementation projects to align with architecture and technology standards.
- Collaborate with Enterprise/solution Architecture groups and cross manufacturing division (Digital MMD).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience architecting solutions in manufacturing and supply chain environments.
- Proven exposure to manufacturing systems (MES, ERP, SCADA), shop floor automation, and industrial IoT.
- Strong understanding of IT/OT integration principles, protocols (OPC, MQTT, etc.), and data management strategies.
- Hands-on experience with shop floor security, including risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and regulatory compliance (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443, NIST).
- Ability to analyze and interconnect capabilities across manufacturing, supply chain, and enterprise domains for holistic solutions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud-based manufacturing and supply chain platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.).
- Familiarity with digital twin, advanced analytics, and AI-driven manufacturing optimization.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and incident response in industrial environments.
- Certification in relevant domains (e.g., TOGAF, ISA Certified Automation Professional, CISSP).
