Senior Specialist, Global Mobility, for Global Mobility Team

We are looking for Senior Specialist, Global Mobility for Global Mobility Team to be based in Chennai, India. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys managing day-to-day assignment processes while driving improvements and regional best practices.

As part of Valmet's Global Mobility team, you will play a critical role in supporting our global project business with cross-border assignments. You will represent the global function confidently, collaborate across cultures, and contribute to initiatives that shape the future of our mobility processes

In this position, you will,

  • Manage end-to-end global mobility processes for international assignments, including assignment agreement management, immigration compliance, and individual income tax compliance, and stakeholder management.
  • Ensure compliance with the company guidelines and regulations related to individual income tax, social security, and immigration.
  • Act as a liaison between HR, payroll, finance department, and external providers, ensuring accurate and timely execution of mobility processes.
  • Serve as a Global Mobility business partner, collaborating with business units to forecast mobility needs and support implementation.
  • Manage Indian outbound and inbound assignment management, including short-term assignments and individual income tax processes.
  • Monitor regional compliance changes and implement improvements in global mobility instructions.
  • Use AI tools and data analytics to enhance reporting, identify trends, and optimize processes.
  • Share insights and best practices to drive continuous improvement in global mobility operations.

To Succeed In This Role, You Will Need

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in short term assignment global mobility, with strong expertise in Indian outbound assignments and related tax processes.
  • Strong knowledge of personal income tax, social security, immigration regulations, and compliance risk management.
  • Ability to manage complex projects independently and represent a global function with confidence.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across cultures.
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to leverage AI tools and analytics for reporting and process optimization.
  • Experience working in global organizations and collaborating across diverse cultures.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and mobility platforms.
  • Customer-oriented and proactive mindset combined with analytical thinking.
  • University Bachelor's or Master's degree in any of the following academic curriculum - Personnel Administration, Economics, Law, Commerce, Business Administration, International Business or equivalent.

You will report to the head of our Global Mobility function and work closely together with Global Mobility team located in the Nordics. You work closely together with finance, corporate income tax team, payroll and the HR functions as well as stakeholders in other teams. You can be located Chennai or Pune, India.
