Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior SDET with strong expertise in automation testing, particularly Playwright with TypeScript. You will be responsible for building and maintaining automation frameworks, ensuring product quality, and collaborating with Engineering and Product teams. The role primarily focuses on automation testing, with manual testing and mentoring junior QA team members as part of the responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.
- Create and execute automated tests for web applications, APIs, and end-to-end workflows.
- Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
- Identify, track, and troubleshoot defects while ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
- Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines and analyze test results.
- Leverage AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar tools for test development, debugging, and productivity.
- Guide and mentor junior QA engineers on testing practices, automation, debugging, and technical skills.
- Review test cases and automation code and help maintain QA best practices across the team.
- Collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in QA Automation, SDET, or Software Testing.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript.
- Good understanding of automation frameworks and manual testing.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or Playwright API.
- Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and debugging automation failures.
- Experience using AI-assisted coding and testing tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and mentoring skills.
Good to Have
- Experience testing SaaS or Conversational AI products.
- Knowledge of SQL, performance testing, or cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with chatbot and voicebot testing.
Education
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field is preferred.
