At Jaguar Land Rover, we are reimagining the future of modern luxury and mobility. As part of our Digital Platform team, this role is responsible for leading and driving compliance of safety‑critical software engineered for next‑generation ADAS platforms, ensuring alignment with ISO 26262 and global automotive safety standards.
Key Accountabilities
- Deliver functional safety compliance for software across JLR vehicle platforms.
- Develop software safety concepts and derive requirements from system‑level safety goals.
- Ensure traceability from technical safety requirements to implementation.
- Perform and review software safety analyses (FMEA, FTA, DFA, CPA).
- Support ASIL decomposition and allocation across architecture.
- Prepare and maintain safety work products (Safety Plan, Safety Case, etc.).
- Collaborate with system, hardware, and software engineers to integrate safety.
- Mentor junior engineers and coach teams on functional safety best practices.
- Support safety audits and assessments.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 and functional safety lifecycle.
- Experience in embedded software development (C/C++, AUTOSAR).
- Familiarity with model‑based development and safety analysis tools.
- Excellent problem‑solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Proven track record in functional safety engineering within automotive or similar safety‑critical domains.
- Effective team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
Desirable:
- Certified Functional Safety Professional (CFSP) or equivalent.
- Experience with ASIL decomposition and safety‑oriented software architecture.
- Knowledge of Linux and service‑oriented architecture.
- Experience applying systems engineering to complex technical issues.
