What will I be doing

You would be working on a specific product that makes up our end-to-end eCommerce platform. This platform drives multibillion £ in sales globally for THG's own brands as well as our partner brands. The elements of the platform you could be working on could be Order Processing, Fraud Detection, ECRM, Product Information Management (PIM) as well as others. As part of the engineering team you would be designing, developing, maintaining, testing and deploying the elements of that platform.

The team you would be working on would be split between India and THG's base in the UK so you would need to be confident in communicating clearly with colleagues in the UK and able to contribute to team discussions.

What skills and experience would I need

Technical:

• Strong knowledge of Java.
• Demonstrable knowledge of relational (SQL) and/or NoSQL databases
• Experience designing and building REST based APIs.
• Experience integrating with internal and third-party services.
• A strong understanding of software development best practices
• Knowledge of DevOps (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
• Understanding of CI/CD principles and experience using a deployment tool, e.g., Jenkins.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• A strong user focused mindset towards building the best product for the end customer.
• Experience writing testable and maintainable code.

Non-technical:

• Communication – Abie to clearly communicate with both tech & non-tech stakeholders.
• Best Practices – Adoption of best practices in coding, architecture and design patterns.
• Ownership – Take lead in owning a problem domain from requirements through to deployment.
• Team player – Be able to collaborate and work effectively with the team and stakeholders.
