We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Switch Technology to design, develop, and deliver highly complex customer and platform-focused projects. The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset, with deep expertise in switch technology platforms like Connex/BASE24/TAL on HP NonStop.
The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer - Switch Technology, you will:
- Software Lifecycle Management: Be responsible for the analysis, design, development, and delivery of software solutions.
- Requirements & Standards: Define requirements for new applications and customizations, ensuring adherence to established standards, processes, and best practices.
- Project Leadership: Manage small to medium-sized projects/initiatives as an individual contributor with advanced knowledge, potentially leading a segment of several larger initiatives.
- Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of the design approaches and technologies utilized in your area, with a focus on customer experience, build/delivery processes, and problem-solving.
- Development & Documentation: Design and develop applications, system-to-system interfaces, and complete software solutions. Perform vendor-related activities and create essential documentation like user guides and software development guides.
- Mentorship & Support: Oversee and provide technical support to junior team members.
- Code Quality: Engage in significant advanced code development, conduct thorough code reviews, and provide modest day-to-day support.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work across multiple scrum teams, which may involve cross-cutting across products, technologies, or a vertical focus on a single product.
- Communication & Influence: Engage in department-wide public speaking and other communications to convey application-level directions.
- Vendor Partnership: Partner with vendors providing technology or user experience design components, collaborating on implementation plans and roadmaps to increase development velocity and learning.
All About You
- Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and formal education is required.
- Overall Experience:6-9 years of overall career experience in Development.
- Switch Technology Expertise (Mandatory): Strong experience with Connex/BASE24 on HP NonStop or IST Switch.
- Connex Knowledge: Strong knowledge in Connex components like PI, PMC, CED, and exposure to other Connex utilities like Statmon.
- HP NonStop Proficiency: Strong knowledge in TAL/pTAL, TACL, Enscribe, Non-stop SQL, FUP, Pathway.
- Messaging Systems: Strong exposure to Messaging systems and ISO8583 messaging formats.
- Simulators (Desirable): Good to have knowledge of simulators like Fastest/Webfastest, VTS, MDS.
- Payments Industry (Preferred): Knowledge of Mastercard and the Cards payments industry is preferred.
- SDLC Methodologies: Advanced knowledge and experience with software development engineering principles, including Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Communication: A strong, confident, and exacting writer and speaker, capable of effectively communicating project goals and roadmaps to a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills, with adaptability to change.
- Leadership & Interpersonal Skills: Possesses leadership, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with a proven track record for developing internal and external relationships.
