Windward is at the forefront of revolutionizing the maritime and logistics industries with cutting-edge AI technology. We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our flagship product development group and demonstrate engineering excellence across our global development teams.
As a Software Engineer in Windward's Solutions Group (R&D), you will build end-to-end solutions that directly address customer needs and deliver real value. The team focuses on turning customer requests and field insights into high-quality software, using best-in-class back-end and front-end engineering practices.
You will work across the stack with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to deliver impactful solutions on top of Windward's AI-powered maritime platformhelping promote responsible governance, secure global trade, and a better world
What will you do
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines for data collection, processing, and transformation using AWS services and more
- Work on client-facing application built with React (Micro FE architecture), delivering seamless and responsive user experience
- Work closely with GraphQLservices to efficiently connect front-end clients with back-end data sources (advantageous if experienced).
- Work with diverse databases, including Elasticsearch, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL, and more
- Leverage Generative AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, or other AI coding assistants to enhance development efficiency and innovation
- Monitor and optimize service performance, identifying bottlenecks and ensuring reliability, scalability, and security
Who are you
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools and concepts (required)
- Strong foundation in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js development
- Additional knowledge in Java/Python is a plus
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow in a collaborative environment
- Basic understanding of networking and clientserver communication, willingness to expand into microservices architecture
- Interest in learning AWS services for data storage, processing, and analytics
- Self-motivated, proactive learner with a sense of ownership over mission-critical systems
