As a Senior software test engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of the application under test. Your participation will be essential in planning test activity for functional and non-functional requirements. Identifying gaps in requirements while working with BA will be an important part of the role. You should be able to prepare, execute, automate maintain test cases, also guide the team if required.
What will you do
- Design, develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases and automation test scripts
- Define testing strategy and roadmap for new features and functionalities in project.
- Gaining in depth understanding of project requirement and functional specifications
- Develop and maintain test cases to ensure good coverage and reliability of testing process
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve the efficiency and coverage of the testing process
- Using a standardized bug reporting process for effective communication and resolution of issues
- Working in close co-ordination with developers to make sure quality standards are met in timely manner
- Working with Business Analyst or other relevant stake holders to ensure accurate test coverage
- Maintenance of testing artefacts should be done with a futuristic view of project
What skills required
- 6+ years of experience in quality assurance
- Strong experience in manual as well as automation testing
- Should have a proven track record in handling complex application testing
- Should be proficient in using automation tools like Selenium with TestNG
- Strong knowledge in scripting languages, preferably Java
- Strong understanding of software development and software testing life cycle
- Profound knowledge on different testing types and techniques
- Willingness to work with various stakeholders to deep dive into project requirements and eliminate gaps
- Ability to write effective test cases, perform functional and non-functional testing
