Senior Software Engineer

Seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer with 5-8 yrs of experience, who can rapidly build, scale, and operate software services in a distributed Cloud environment for OCI File Storage Service.

Join Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team as a Senior Software Developer to build features for our high-scale File Storage Service in a distributed cloud environment. We seek engineers with 4+ years in distributed systems, expertise in Java, Go, or Python, and strong skills in data structures and algorithms. Collaborate in an agile setting to solve complex problems and deliver enterprise solutions. Knowledge of storage concepts and file systems is a plus

Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team is building File Storage Service that operates at high-scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best in class file storage capabilities in conjunction with other compute, storage, networking, database, security offerings.

Basic Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of Java, Go or Python.
• 4+ years experience developing commercial software in a distributed environment.
• Understanding of software systems analysis and design, and software development life cycle.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
• Understanding of databases, storage and persistent technologies.
• Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders towards achieving success of the task at hand.

Optional skills: Knowledge of storage concepts and file systems.

Education: BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields with experience of 4+ years in the functional area.

As a Senior Developer you will work as a member of a highly collaborative team building new features for File Storage Service and operating and growing the current service offering. You should understand distributed systems, be able to architect broad systems interactions, while being very hands-on, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and lower level system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.
