Senior Software Engineer
We have an opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our Data Engineering team in Pune, India, reporting to the senior manager of Software Engineering. In this role, you will develop platforms and products for Infoblox's SaaS product line delivering next level networking for our customers. You'll work closely with a world-class team of engineers and Product leaders to deliver high-performance, policy-driven access, and connectivity solutions.
Be a ContributorWhat You'll Do
- Design and develop scalable backend and data engineering solutions using Python or Golang or Java
- Build and maintain robust RESTful APIs and microservices to support data ingestion, transformation, and delivery
- Work with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) to architect and deploy data pipelines and backend services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Data Science, and DevOps to align engineering efforts with business goals
- Implement data processing workflows using modern tools and frameworks (e.g., Airflow, Spark, or similar)
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, ensuring high availability and performance
- Stay current with emerging technologies in backend and data engineering to continuously improve system design and performance
Be PreparedWhat You Bring
- Minimum 8 years of backend development experience, with recent focus on data engineering
- Strong coding skills in Python, Golang, or Java, with solid software design principles
- Experience with AWS (S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift) or GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Functions)
- Proficient in API design, integration, and security best practices
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Exposure to streaming and batch data processing techniques
- Ability to thrive in agile, fast-paced environments with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration capabilities
- Experience with Airflow, Kafka, Spark, or dbt
- Knowledge of Terraform/CloudFormation and interest in AI/ML workflows
Be Successful Your Path
First 90 Days:
- Immerse in our culture, connect with mentors, and map the systems and stakeholders that rely on your work.
Six Months:
- Complete onboarding by demonstrating knowledge of the Data Engineering and associated technologies and CI/CD processes by deploying ETL pipelines for curation and warehousing to production
- Complete rotations on support/duty where you will gain experience with the different systems, tools, and processes in the Data Engineering by resolving reported issues
- Contribute to the team's velocity by participating in Scrum and driving stories to completion
One Year:
- Be an expert on the Data Engineering target state architecture and drive engineering design and grooming sessions for new feature development
- Apply coding best practices and provide in depth-reviews on the team's pull requests
- Be a thought leader in one or more domains of the Data Engineering, driving development and mentoring teammates in this domain
