About The Role
- This role performs complex research, design, and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line, and provides direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodology in the development of cross-functional software products. This role performs software design typically across multiple systems; mentors more-junior members of the team; and talks to users/customers and translates their requests into solutions.
About The Team
Generally, the team is form in Squad where each squad consist of Squad Lead, Business Analyst, Dev lead, Developers and Testers. This Squad structure provides more connectivity among team members and allows us to deliver faster as all resources work as one group on dedicated tasks.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy production-ready applications primarily using Python and PySpark, following coding best practices and development standards.
- Actively participate in the software development lifecycle (Agile/Waterfall), contributing in standups, meetings, pull request reviews, bug analysis, and solution discussions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and finalize technical and product requirements.
- Write and review detailed technical specifications and translate complex business requirements into scalable software designs.
- Debug and resolve complex technical issues and production bugs, ensuring high-quality and optimized solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain complex data models and ETL processes, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.
- Implement and uphold development processes, test-driven development (TDD), and industry best practices, including code reviews and CI/CD practices.
- Mentor and train junior engineers, provide technical guidance, share knowledge of new technologies, and support team growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related analytical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 57 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong hands-on coding expertise.
- Advanced proficiency in Python, PySpark, and ETL development, including data manipulation and optimization techniques.
- Working knowledge (basic to intermediate) of AWS, Airflow, GLUE, Athena, SQL, Linux, Docker, Jenkins, Terraform, Excel, Vertica, and GitHub.
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (normalized and dimensional models) and multiple data storage systems.
- Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and industry best practices.
- Experience with test-driven development (TDD), complex bug resolution, and writing detailed technical specifications.
- Strong analytical, research, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external technical teams.
