- Proficiency in syntax, data types and control structures
- Understanding OOP with classes, modules and interfaces
- Error handling (using on error resume next, on error goto for exceptions)
- ADO (for MSSQL)
- DAO/RDO concepts
- COM/ActiveX integrations (using components)
- VB6 controls working with buttons, text boxes, lists , combo etc.
- Event handling and improving UI responsiveness
- Working with VB6 debugger and performance profiling
- SQL querying optimizations for batching, loops within the code
- Networking basics
- Nice to Have: VB.NET/C# migration knowledge and proven experience
