Position Overview
Construction R&D in the AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations) organisation of Autodesk is focused on developing and enhancing technologies and methodologies to improve the efficiency, productivity, and sustainability of construction projects. This involves research and development in areas such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), digital twins, IoT integration, and advanced data management systems. Overall, construction R&D aims to drive industry transformation, improve project outcomes, and meet the evolving needs of stakeholders in the AECO sector.
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with strong expertise in React (frontend) and Node.js or Java (backend) to design, build, and scale modern web applications. This role requires a hands-on senior engineer with deep technical expertise who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about building high-quality, performant, and maintainable software. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions that power critical business capabilities.
Roles and Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack web applications
Build responsive, high-performance UI components using React
Develop robust backend services and APIs using Node.js and/or Java (Spring Boot preferred)
Architect RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
Lead technical design discussions and mentor junior engineers
Write clean, maintainable, testable code with strong test coverage
Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security
Participate in code reviews and establish engineering best practices
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong proficiency in React (Hooks, Context API, state management libraries like Redux/Zustand)
Strong backend experience with Node.js (Express/NestJS) and/or Java (Spring Boot)
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
Solid understanding of data modeling and experience with databases
Experience with authentication/authorisation (OAuth, JWT, SSO)
Familiarity with cloud platforms - AWS
Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines
Strong understanding of system design and scalable architecture
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
