Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

Key Responsibilities:

Testing & Automation:

• Design and implement backend test automation and quality standards.
• Conduct manual verification of backend applications and API testing.
• Assist engineers in writing automation tests and maintain healthy pipelines.
• Build contract testing using tools like Pact, Postman, Cypress.

Collaboration & Mentorship:

• Work closely with backend engineers and managers to define QA best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as a subject matter expert.
• Influence QA methodology and workflow improvements across the organization.

CI/CD & Observability:

• Optimize testing workflows in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, CloudBees).
• Use observability tools like Kibana and Datadog for monitoring test coverage.
• Set up synthetic monitoring to simulate user behavior on live services.

Leadership & Strategy:

• Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
• Lead code/design reviews and contribute to process improvements.
• Suggest technologies to enhance QA effectiveness.
