Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Snowflake Administrator to lead the management, optimization, and scaling of our Snowflake data platform. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the performance, security, and governance of our cloud-based data infrastructure. As a key member of the Data Platform team, you will work closely with Data Engineering, DevOps, and Security teams to support analytics and business operations at scale.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in data platform administration, with at least 2 years dedicated to Snowflake.
- Expert-level understanding of Snowflake architecture, including virtual warehouses, storage, caching, and compute models.
- Strong expertise in SQL, query optimization, and performance analysis.
- Experience with Snowflake security model, including role-based access control (RBAC), network policies, and data masking.
- Hands-on experience with data integration and transformation tools, especially DBT.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation in any cloud environment
- Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools relevant to cloud data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and manage the enterprise Snowflake environment, including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and scaling.
- Implement and maintain security, access controls, and data governance standards across the Snowflake platform.
- Optimize performance of Snowflake workloads through query tuning, clustering strategies, caching, and workload management.
- Lead platform upgrades, capacity planning, and usage forecasting.
- Support CI/CD practices using tools such as DBT and Git, integrating with DevOps pipelines for deployment and version control.
- Define and enforce best practices for Snowflake usage, cost control, and optimization.
- Collaborate with InfoSec and compliance teams to ensure regulatory alignment and audit readiness.
- Troubleshoot platform issues, analyze logs, and ensure high availability of Snowflake services.
Education: B.Tech in any branch or specialization.
