Job Description

The Senior Security Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the OAL organization's security programs and automation-driven approaches. This includes ensuring the protection of digital assets, sensitive data, and networks from cyber threats, unauthorized access, and data breaches. The role needs unique security and development knowledge to pro-actively identify and prevent threat.

Oracle Applications Lab (OAL) team builds and manages a suite of corporate applications, integrated cloud services cloud environment on OCI.

Responsibilities

We are looking for engineers with distributed systems expertise. You should have experience with the design of major features and launching them into production. You've operated high-scale services and understand how to make them more resilient. The ideal candidate will own the software design and development for major components of Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure. You should be both a rock-solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others.

  • On-board OAL Tenancies to OCI standard and cloud-native tools and/or platform
  • Proactive Security Controls and Monitoring
  • Automation in security vulnerabilities detection
  • Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools

Preferred Qualification:


  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or relevant technical field involving coding or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of total experience in software development
  • Demonstrated ability to write great code using Python, Java, C#, C++ or similar OO languages
  • Proven ability to deliver products and experience with the full software development lifecycle
  • Experience working in an operational environment with mission-critical tier-one live site servicing
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, a sense of ownership, and drive
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certifications (nice to have)
