Role Description

This is a full-time onsite Senior Software Engineer role focused on designing and scaling distributed backend systems using Java and Spring Boot. The role involves building event-driven architectures with Kafka and working with Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and relational databases to design efficient, scalable data models. You will make key architectural decisions balancing consistency, availability, and performance, while ensuring services are reliable, observable, and resilient in production.

Qualifications

Deep expertise in designing and scaling distributed systems with a strong understanding of CAP tradeoffs and architectural decisions.

Hands-on experience building and operating Kafka-based, event-driven systems with strong knowledge of delivery guarantees and partitioning.

Strong experience designing and operating Cassandra (or similar) with a solid understanding of partition keys, replication, and consistency tradeoffs.

Proven ability to design and manage Elasticsearch clusters with expertise in indexing, sharding, and performance tuning.

Strong experience with relational databases (Postgres/MySQL), including data modelling, indexing, transactions, and scaling strategies.

Extensive experience building production-grade Java services with Spring Boot, with deep JVM, concurrency, and networking knowledge.

Strong focus on reliability, observability, and resilient system design with clear failure modes and graceful degradation.

Experience running services on Kubernetes/cloud platforms with strong performance tuning and capacity planning skills.
