Swarna Bharat TV is a mission-led creative platform telling precise, high-quality stories on Bharat's history, culture, spirituality, and knowledge systems. Our YouTube channel is live with RashtraGaatha, and we're rolling out additional twelve original showsanimated series, on-field documentaries, studio formats, and feature specials. We pair research-first writing with cinematic craft, and we're preparing our originals for wider distribution, including OTT.
The Role:
We're hiring a Senior Script Writer to lead weekly originals across our slate. You'll develop platform-ready scripts that work for digital and long-form cutsclear hooks, clean structure, rigorous sourcing, and editor-friendly visual beats. You'll collaborate closely with researchers, editors, and designers to translate ideas into compelling, publishable episodes.
What you'll do:
1) Script & Structure
- Deliver polished scripts on a weekly cadence; write in a clear, modern voice (Roman Hindi or English as required by the show).
- Craft strong openings, act-based flow, and crisp endings; keep paragraphs modular for edit flexibility.
2) Research & Verification
- Build source decks per episode: books, archives, credible journalism, papers, govt records.
- Cross-check timelines, names, claims; maintain citations/footnotes and a transparent sources log.
- Flag legal/ethical risks (defamation, living persons, sensitive claims) and propose safe phrasings.
3) Packaging Support
- Provide visual beats for editors (shot ideas, archival cues, on-screen text) and contribute title options & thumbnail micro-copy per episode.
4) Collaboration & Iteration
- Work with the team to incorporate data/feedback and improve retention, clarity, and pacing week over week.
Must-haves:
- 48 years of non-fiction/script writing for digital/documentary content.
- Proven research discipline and citation hygiene.
- Platform sense: attention-driving openings, tight structure, and audience-friendly language.
- On-site availability in Vashi; dependable weekly delivery.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience writing for anchors/VO; familiarity with archives and rights.
- Comfort shaping scripts for both short (810 min) and longer (2030 min) cuts.
- Basic sheet hygiene (sources log, outline draft revision tracking).
