Senior SAP Consultant

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop CDS views (basic and consumption views) to model business data for operational and analytical reporting.

Build OData services, AMDPs and ABAP-based data access layers to expose data to SAP Fiori apps, SAP Analytics Cloud, and third-party BI tools.

Create and maintain complex ABAP logic, Open SQL, and HANA-specific code while ensuring performance and scalability.

Develop and maintain SAP Fiori/UI5 reporting front-ends or collaborate closely with UI developers for data consumption.

Implement annotations and semantics for analytical CDS to enable KPI calculations, aggregates, and metadata for frontend consumption.

Collaborate with BW/BW4HANA and ETL teams to enable data provisioning and harmonization where required.

Optimize CDS and HANA performance: explain plans, indexing strategy, push-down to HANA, and tuning of SQL and joins.

Lead testing activities including unit, integration and performance testing for reporting deliverables.

Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective measures for reporting and data models.

Drive best practices for CDS modeling, reuse of views, naming conventions, transport management and version control.

Mentor and coach mid/junior developers; review code and design artifacts to ensure quality and maintainability.

Participate in requirement workshops with business stakeholders to translate reporting needs into technical specifications.

Support deployments and provide hypercare during go‑lives for reporting deliverables.

Maintain documentation: data models, technical specifications, runbooks and query catalogs.
