I. Job Summary
The Senior ABAP Developer is responsible for designing, building, and supporting complex SAP technical solutions with deep expertise in ABAP development. This role partners closely with functional teams to translate business requirements into high-quality, scalable, and secure SAP solutions. The position requires hands-on experience in S/4HANA, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to operate within a global delivery model.
II. Roles & Responsibilities
Technical Solution Design & Development
- Collaborate with SAP functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements.
- Design, build, and implement complex SAP technical solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
- Customize and enhance SAP functionality to support evolving business needs.
- Develop and support RICEFW objects, including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows.
- Build CDS Views, OData services, APIs, and integrations for SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical design and solution documentation.
- Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, coding standards, performance optimization, and security guidelines.
- Conduct peer code reviews and maintain transport and change management discipline.
ABAP Development & Application Support
- Perform advanced technical analysis and provide support across SAP modules.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to performance, logic, integration, and data quality.
- Execute data migration and conversion activities using LSMW, LTMC, BDC, BAPI, and related tools.
- Develop enhancements using User Exits, BADIs, and Enhancement Frameworks.
- Design, develop, and maintain SmartForms and Adobe Forms.
- Build and support interfaces using IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, APIs.
- Develop and support SAP Fiori/UI5 components in collaboration with UI teams.
- Conduct unit testing and support SIT/UAT, defect resolution, and production fixes.
- Support SAP upgrades, regression testing, and impact assessments for patches and releases.

- SAP technical certifications (ABAP / S/4HANA) are a plus.
V. Skill Set Required
Must Haves
- Around 5-7 years of SAP ABAP development experience, including performance tuning and complex RICEFW builds.
- Hands-on experience with S/4HANA 1809 or higher (ABAP on HANA, CDS, AMDP, OData).
- Build CDS Views, OData services, APIs, and integrations for SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Strong experience with data migration and conversion (LSMW, LTMC, BDC, BAPI).
- Experience with SAP Workflows, CDS view development.
- Experience designing APIs and integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Experience with SmartForms and Adobe Forms.
- Experience working within Agile delivery models and global teams.
Nice to Have
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Good understanding of one or more SAP business processes like Finance, OTC, PTP, and WM business processes, with a strong preference for Finance.
- BTP experience is strongly preferred
- Fiori/UI5 experience is strongly preferred.
- CPI experience is nice to have
- Ability to lead technical discussions, influence solution design, and mentor junior developers.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Ability to work independently across multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
