Why This Role Why Now

The Senior Sales Engineer is responsible for all technical, solution, and competitive aspects of the Zendesk sales cycle. Sales Engineers must be both sales-focused and technically savvy. In this role, you will be successful in selling to Enterprise, Commercial, and Midmarket executives, convincing C-level and director-level leaders of the technical merits of our software solutions.

As an execution partner to our India-focused sales teams, you will team up with aligned Account Executives on commercial opportunities in India, and secondarily across Asia. Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a self-driven, collaborative professional who can manage multiple projects independently, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and has a solution-scoping ability that can influence product direction when needed. You will take ownership of the prime technical relationships with our prospects to drive customer happiness by proactively managing and delivering technical information to our customers both onsite and virtually.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Work in conjunction with Sales, Marketing, Product Managers, and other members of the cross-functional team to be the technical bridge between our Sales team and their prospects.
  • Take ownership of the prime technical relationship with prospects to drive customer happiness.
  • Proactively manage and deliver technical information to our customers both onsite and virtually.
  • Support our India-focused sales teams, partnering with aligned Account Executives on commercial opportunities in India, and secondarily across Asia.
  • Translate RFI/RFP requirements into elegant, high-impact software solutions.
  • Manage customer pilots and proof of concepts (PoCs) from scope through execution.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Excellent communication, presentation, persuasion, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and solution-scoping ability, including the ability to influence product direction when needed.
  • Self-driven, collaborative mindset with the capacity to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Business-level fluency in English; proficiency in an additional Indian language is highly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel across the target regions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of presales / solutions consulting experience paired with strong customer-facing and technical consulting skills.
  • Hands-on knowledge of web and scripting technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, and SaaS applications.
  • Strong expertise in AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), conversational AI, and AI-driven customer service solutions.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business applications and related domains such as: Customer Service Software, ITSM, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Workforce Management, QA, Integration & Middleware, and AI/Bots.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree (Master's or equivalent) preferred.
  • Previous consulting experience implementing enterprise-class software solutions.
  • Domain expertise in specific target verticals/industries.
  • Awareness of Cloud Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) and peripheral technologies.
  • Direct experience in moderating Design-Based Thinking sessions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop reference architectures in support of client solutions.
