Position: Senior Sales Engineer
Location: Dadar, Mumbai
The Senior Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for providing advanced technical and commercial support throughout the sales process. This includes pre-sales consultation, tender participation, application engineering, project coordination, and post-sales engagement. The role demands a combination of engineering expertise and business acumen to develop tailored cooling and climate control solutions for mission-critical environments such as data centers, telecom, industrial, and healthcare sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Pre-Sales
- Understand client requirements and propose suitable technical solutions.
- Provide technical support during client meetings, presentations, and pre-bid discussions.
- Prepare and review tender documents, technical datasheets, and respond to RFQs/RFPs.
- Create and submit bids, technical proposals, and quotations for HVAC or related systems.
- Conduct site visits for feasibility studies, application engineering, and support during execution.
Sales Execution
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the assigned territory.
- Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation to closure.
- Build strong relationships with key decision-makers, consultants, and contractors.
Project & Order Coordination
- Coordinate internally with factory and operations teams for order execution and dispatch.
- Work with engineering teams to prepare submittals, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Ensure project design and application engineering are aligned with client specifications.
- Support on-site technical resolutions in coordination with service/project teams.
Tendering & Contract Finalization
- Assist in technical clarifications, compliance checks, and commercial negotiations.
- Coordinate internally to finalize contracts and ensure smooth handover to operations.
Brand & Product Awareness
- Participate in exhibitions, seminars, and training programs to improve market visibility.
- Support marketing and PR efforts to enhance awareness of products and solutions.
Reporting & MIS
- Maintain sales reports, pipeline status, and project updates for management.
- Share data-driven insights and recommend process improvements.
Commercial & Collections
- Ensure timely invoicing and follow up on collections as per agreed terms.
- Address and resolve any technical or commercial issues that could impact revenue.
Product Development Support
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams for new product launches and upgrades.
- Provide feedback on product performance and market needs.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge in HVAC, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
- Experience with tenders, technical proposals, and commercial documentation.
- Proficient in MS Office, CRM systems, and project management tools.
- Knowledge of contract terms and project handling.
- Strong customer orientation with a problem-solving approach.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and independently.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in technical sales and application engineering.
- Exposure to tendering, project engineering, and product management.
- Willingness to travel for client and project requirements.
