About the Role Robotics Instructor
Newton School of Technology invites applications for the position of Robotics Engineer +Instructor within the interdisciplinary engineering and science department.This role is ideal for professionals or academicians with strong expertise in Robotics,Control Systems, Mechatronics, and Applied Physics, who are passionate about hands-onexperimentation, problem-based learning, and mentoring students in engineeringfundamentals.
The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering theory and laboratorycourses, guiding student projects, and integrating real-world engineering applications intothe curriculum. The role requires collaboration with faculty across Computer Science, AI, andEngineering domains to promote interdisciplinary learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Academic Delivery
Design and deliver project-based courses in Robotics and Applied Physics, including:
Mechanics, Kinematics, and Dynamics
Electronics and Sensors
Control Systems and Feedback Mechanisms
Microcontrollers and Embedded Systems (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, etc.)
Robotics Programming (Python / C++)
Computer Vision for Robotics
Motion Planning and Navigation
Lab-based experimentation in physics and robotics
Curriculum Development
Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of Robotics and Applied
Physics curriculum
Integrate real-world engineering problems, industry case studies, and hands-on lab
work
Student Mentorship
Guide students in robotics projects such as autonomous robots, drones, roboticarms, and IoT-based systems
Provide technical feedback on design, implementation, and testing
Career Guidance
Mentor students on careers in Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation, and EmbeddedSystems
Support students in preparing for internships and technical roles
Industry Alignment
Stay updated with advancements in robotics, automation, AI-integrated robotics, andsmart systems
Bring contemporary tools and practices into classroom teaching
Collaboration
Work closely with AI/ML faculty to integrate robotics with computer vision andmachine learning
Collaborate with engineering and lab teams for practical learning modules
Assessment and Evaluation
Design practical lab assignments, mini-projects, and capstone evaluations
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering,Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Ph.D. is desirable but notmandatory)
Minimum 57 years of hands-on industry or academic experience in Robotics,Automation, or Applied Physics
Demonstrated experience in building robotic systems, experimental physics setups,or real-world engineering applications
Strong conceptual understanding of mechanics, electronics, and control systems
Demonstrated commitment to teaching, mentorship, and hands-on learning
Required Skills
Technical Competencies
Strong foundation in Physics and Engineering principles
Hands-on experience with:
Microcontrollers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32)
Sensors and actuators
Robotics frameworks (ROS preferred)
Python and/or C++ programming
CAD tools (SolidWorks / Fusion 360 preferred)
Basic AI/CV integration in robotics (good to have)
Professional Skills
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
Strong collaboration and teamwork
Passion for teaching, experimentation, and innovation
Preferred Qualifications (Good-to-Have)
Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level
Experience in robotics competitions, research labs, or industrial automation
Familiarity with modern pedagogical and experiential learning methodologies
