About the role
We are looking for a senior engineer to drive the design, development, and delivery of robotics systems, IoT solutions, and hands-on technical curriculum at NIAT.
This role is central to building NIAT's physical technology capability by creating hardware that students learn from, connected systems that solve real problems, and rigorous courses that reflect where the industry is actually headed.
The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on expertise in robotics and embedded IoT, a track record of leading engineering teams to shipped outcomes, and the ability to translate that expertise into learning experiences that produce industry-ready engineers.
02
Your Responsibilities
You will be the senior technical voice on the Robotics & IoT team. Your work spans four areas.
Hardware & Systems
Design and build IoT and robotics systems from the ground up, from schematic and firmware through integration and field testing. You own the full engineering lifecycle of physical products, not just a layer of it.
Connected Systems & IoT
Architect and implement IoT solutions including device connectivity, sensor pipelines, embedded firmware, and cloud-edge integration. Define the technical standards the team builds to.
Curriculum & Technical Content
Translate your engineering expertise into rigorous, hands-on learning courses, labs, and projects that develop job-ready skills in robotics and IoT.
Team Leadership
Directly manage a team of engineers. Set sprint goals, review work, unblock problems, and develop people.
03
What kind of person thrives here
You have built hardware that works in the real world, not just in simulation. You know the difference between a design that looks good on paper and one that survives contact with reality.
You lead by doing. When your team is stuck, you sit down with them. You don't delegate your way around the problem.
You are comfortable with ambiguity and short timelines. You can make a reasonable call with incomplete information, ship something, and course-correct when needed.
You care about the quality of what you build and the quality of how you explain it. You can talk to a student or a non-technical stakeholder as fluently as you talk to a peer engineer.
04
Experience we care about
We care about what you have done, not what you have been exposed to.
05
What this role is not
We'd rather you opt out now than discover this six months in.
Not a research or simulation role. We are building things that physically exist and work — on a schedule.
Not a pure individual contributor role. You will manage people. Their output is your accountability.
Not a large, well-resourced team environment. You will work lean, make calls quickly, and iterate fast. If you need extensive process and consensus to move, this will be frustrating.

Job Overview
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Hyderabad / NIAT Campuses
Working Days: 6-Day Week
Role Level: Lead (Senior)
CTC Range: Competitive & aligned with industry standards
07
A note before you apply
This is a role for someone who wants to build something that matters, not manage something that already exists.
If you have shipped hardware, led engineers, and are genuinely excited about what it means to train India's next generation of robotics and IoT engineers, we'd like to talk.
Strong builders who don't have a perfect resume are encouraged to apply. We care far more about what you've made than how it looks on paper.
