Job Description

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to paediatric patients under the supervision of attending physicians.
  • Perform physical examinations, diagnose medical conditions, develop treatment plans, and monitor patient progress.
  • Supervise and guide junior residents, interns, and medical students in their daily clinical duties.
  • Assist in training, evaluation, and professional development of junior staff.
  • Conduct regular hospital rounds, assess patients, review results, and discuss treatment plans with the healthcare team.
  • Coordinate and communicate patient care plans with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform or assist in medical procedures such as venipuncture, wound care, suturing, and bedside procedures while ensuring adherence to safety and sterile protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and updated medical records including history, examination findings, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment options, preventive care, medication adherence, and post-discharge instructions.
  • Collaborate with nurses, pharmacists, therapists, and social workers to ensure holistic and coordinated patient care.
  • Facilitate continuity of care by coordinating follow-up appointments, referrals, and discharge planning.
  • Stay updated on current medical guidelines, evidence-based practices, and advancements in paediatrics.
  • Participate in research activities, conferences, and medical education programs.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, outcomes, and service delivery.
  • Engage in CME activities, maintain licensure, and pursue continuous professional development.
