Senior Resident - Critical Care

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide continuous and high-quality medical care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
• Perform initial assessment, develop treatment plans, and manage acute conditions under the supervision of consultants.
• Monitor patients on ventilators, life support, and other critical interventions.
• Manage emergencies like sepsis, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, trauma, and shock according to critical care protocols.
• Perform critical care procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, arterial line placement, and bedside ultrasound (if trained).
• Coordinate with a multidisciplinary team including consultants, nurses, and technicians for effective patient management.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Participate in ICU rounds, clinical audits, and academic sessions such as journal clubs and CMEs.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and ICU protocols.

Desired Candidate Profile

• MBBS with MD/DNB in Internal Medicine / Anaesthesiology / Pulmonology or equivalent qualification.
• 1 to 2 years of clinical experience in an ICU or Critical Care setting.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS (FCCS or IDCCM preferred).
• Ability to manage high-pressure situations with sound clinical judgment.
• Good interpersonal skills and team collaboration.
