Senior Resident / Attending Consultant - General Surgery

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive surgical care including evaluation, diagnosis, and management of general surgical conditions.
• Assist in performing and independently handle basic and intermediate surgical procedures under supervision or as per privileges granted.
• Participate in emergency and elective surgeries, ward rounds, and post-operative care.
• Manage surgical OPD, admissions, pre-operative and post-operative counseling and documentation.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialties to ensure integrated patient care.
• Ensure accurate clinical documentation, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
• Adhere to hospital protocols and maintain infection control and patient safety standards.
• Engage in academic activities like CME, journal clubs, and case discussions within the department.
• Participate in quality improvement and clinical audit initiatives.

Desired Candidate Profile

• MBBS with MS/DNB in General Surgery from a recognized institution.
• 0 to 3 years of clinical or surgical experience in a reputed hospital.
• Strong surgical foundation with ability to handle ward and OT responsibilities.
• Good communication, teamwork, and crisis management skills.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts including emergency duties.
