Job title: Senior UX Researcher

Experience: 4-6 years

Location: BKC, Mumbai (HQ)

Employment Type: Full-time, Work from Office

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred (Strategic Design, Design Management , Human-Centered Design, Psychology, Anthropology, Behavioral Sciences, Sociology, or similar)

About the job:

As a Senior Researcher, you will work alongside our Principal Researcher to strategize and execute projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will also be expected to build a culture that fosters team citizenship and customer-centricity. Hence, you need to be driven, experienced, and detail-oriented senior UX researcher who has a proven record of helping steer truly great product experiences. You should be skilled at strategizing for and gathering actionable data, understanding the why behind user behaviours, and translating those insights into ideas for the product roadmap. Prior proven experience in B2C products and environments is preferred . You will work closely with young and dynamic cross-functional teams, ensuring that every decision is grounded in a deep understanding of our users.

What will you be responsible for:

  • Research Strategy & Execution: Collaborate on end-to-end UX research for key projects, including planning, conducting, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative research. Develop a research strategy that aligns with product goals and user needs.
  • User Testing: Help product designers conduct usability tests: both moderated and unmoderated, to evaluate design solutions. Identify usability issues, measure performance, and suggest improvements.
  • Data Synthesis & Presentation: Translate research findings into clear, actionable insights for product teams. Present the research in a compelling manner to the team and executive leadership. Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to ensure research informs product design and development.
  • Documentation and Archival: Maintain a structured and detailed repository of all research artefacts and findings that is accessible to the entire team.
  • Research Operations:Work with various vendors and admin functions within the organization to manage the research operations. Refine and co-create templates, workflows and processes that help simplify and democratize interaction with the Research team.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with product managers & designers, developers, and business teams to incorporate research insights into the design process. Provide recommendations to ensure products are user-centered and impactful.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Share insights and trends across teams to foster a culture of research-driven decision-making. Help evolve the bank's UX research practices, tools, and methodologies.
  • Stay Up to date: Employ and keep up with AI and latest trends, tools, and best practices in UX research, and continuously seek ways to improve the bank's research methods.

Therefore, you should have:

  • Experience: 4-6 years of proven experience in UX research, with a strong portfolio demonstrating how your research influenced successful product development and enhanced user experience.
  • Research Expertise: Expertise in qualitative-quantitative, formative-summative and generative-evaluative research methodologies, including user interviews, usability testing, surveys, ethnography, data analysis, SUS scoring and secondary research.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets and present actionable insights that guide design and business decisions. Comfortable with data and analytics.
  • Collaboration: Experience working closely with analytics and product teams, including designers, product managers, and developers, to implement research insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate research findings into clear, concise recommendations. Ability to write research reports and presentations as archival or repository resources.
  • Tools Knowledge: Such as Entropic, Maze, User Testing, Hotjar, Google Analytics, Miro, FigJam, Figma, AI-led tools, etc.
  • a Portfolio: A set of research projects with details on the approach, techniques, process, and outcomes.
  • What would make you stand out:

    • You've worked in financial services, fintech, or other complex, highly regulated industries.
    • Enjoy collaborating with other researchers and designers.Ability to evangelise and embed research within the larger team, which might include which might include facilitating training etc.
    • Stay updated on emerging research trends, AI workflows, user psychology, and behavioral economics.
    • Active in the UX research community, sharing your insights and contributing to discussions around the evolution of user research.
