Senior Quantitative Research Lead, Alpha Strategies (Gurgaon, India)

A leading systematic investment platform is seeking a senior quantitative researcher to take on a lead role within its India research function. This role combines hands-on alpha generation with responsibility for elevating and scaling a high-performing research team.

The role centres on driving alpha production, enhancing research quality, and advancing platform capabilities, while contributing directly to live trading performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and elevate research standards across the quantitative research function
• Generate and deploy scalable alpha strategies across equities and derivatives
• Contribute directly to live trading P&L through proprietary signal generation
• Drive innovation in modelling approaches, data usage, and signal construction
• Conduct structured research reviews and ensure reproducibility and robustness
• Define research priorities and help shape the overall research roadmap
• Mentor and develop researchers while maintaining a strong hiring bar
• Scale research output and platform capability without compromising alpha quality

Key Requirements

• Advanced degree (BS/MS/PhD) in a STEM discipline
• 5+ years of experience in systematic equity or derivatives research
• Proven track record of generating profitable and scalable alpha
• Strong understanding of signal construction, decay, and risk controls
• Strong programming and quantitative research capabilities
• Ability to balance hands-on research with team leadership
