About the role:

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer-2 to lead a small testing team while acting as the hands-on technical cornerstone for our automation strategies. In this role, you will architect cutting-edge automation frameworks, champion AI-driven testing methodologies, and mentor a high-performing team.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to a small team of QA engineers. Drive best practices, conduct code reviews, and act as the bridge between technical execution and management stakeholders.

. Advanced Framework Architecture: Design, develop, scale, and maintain highly efficient automation test frameworks from scratch. Primary focus on Webdriver.io, Playwright, and Mocha.

. AI-Driven Optimization: Spearhead the integration of AI coding agents (Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf) and explore custom AI-driven testing solutions to optimize test planning, generation, and code maintenance.

. API Testing & Integration: Perform comprehensive API testing (RESTful) to ensure rock-solid reliability, security, and performance across backend systems.

. CI/CD & Infrastructure Integration: Architect the seamless integration of test automation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and manage cloud execution environments (BrowserStack, LambdaTest).

. Observability & BDD: Implement and maintain Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices. Evaluate observability metrics to generate actionable insights, ensuring clear communication between technical teams and product managers.

. Accessibility & Performance Strategy: Define the strategy for accessibility compliance (WCAG) using tools like Axe-Core, Pa11y, or Wave. Curate requirements and execute performance/load testing using K6, Locust, or JMeter.

. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with developers, DevOps, and product management to identify requirements, shift testing left, and ensure comprehensive test coverage early in the SDLC.

. Defect Triage & Management: Oversee the defect lifecycle, ensuring bugs are identified, documented significantly, and tracked to resolution.

BASIC FUNCTIONS: This is a position in Quality Assurance responsible for leading the development and execution of performance and automation testing solutions. This position works with management to apply automation strategy and to plan and execute effective and efficient performance and automation testing to accomplish on-time and efficient delivery of high-quality software products and/or data.

Requirements:

. Experience: 7+ years of proven experience in software quality engineering, with a strong emphasis on scalable test automation and framework architecture.

. Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading testing initiatives, taking ownership of project deliverables, and mentoring junior to mid-level engineers.

. Programming Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Python/JavaScript/Java

. Automation Tools: Deep, hands-on expertise in writing and maintaining automation suites using Webdriver.io, Playwright, or Cypress

. AI Engineering Tooling: Practical expertise in utilizing AI agents (Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf) to accelerate building and fixing code.

. API Testing: Solid understanding of RESTful API concepts and experience testing them via Postman, Insomnia, or directly within Playwright/Mocha.

. CI/CD Pipelines: Strong background in setting up and optimizing the execution of automation suites within continuous integration environments (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

. Accessibility: Working knowledge of WCAG standards and hands-on experience with accessibility testing tools (Axe, Lighthouse, NVDA).
