Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Functional Testing and Validation • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive functional test cases and scenarios based on complex business requirements (BRDs), functional specifications (FSDs), and user stories, with a specific focus on the Loan Origination System modules (e.g., Application Intake, Credit Underwriting, Decisioning, Document Generation, Closing).

• Conduct various types of testing, including System Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support, ensuring the LOS meets all defined specifications and business needs.

• Perform backend validation using SQL queries to verify data integrity, data transformations, and system calculations within the database layers of the LOS.

• Execute API testing using tools like Postman or SoapUI to validate service-layer functionality and data exchange between the LOS and other integrated systems (e.g., Credit Bureaus, Core Banking). • Automation selenium or any Low code no code tool knowledge,automation script execution & scripting knowledge required.

Loan Origination Domain Expertise

Leverage deep knowledge of the lending domain (e.g., Home Loan,Mortgage, Auto, Personal Loans,Gold Loan,Micro Loan ,Loan against property) and the end-to-end loan lifecycle to perform effective risk-based testing.

• Ensure that all LOS functionality adheres to relevant financial compliance and regulatory requirements.

• Validate complex business rules and workflows within the LOS, particularly concerning automated decision-making and risk assessment logic.

Quality Assurance Process

• Participate actively in all Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Retrospectives, etc.) and effectively collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Development teams.

• Identify, document, and meticulously track defects using defect management tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar), ensuring proper priority and severity are assigned.

• Provide accurate and timely test progress reports, defect metrics, and risk assessments to project stakeholders.

• Collaborate with automation engineers to identify high-impact, repeatable test cases suitable for test automation (prior experience with test automation tools like Selenium).

Required Qualifications & Skills Experience

• Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in Functional Testing or Quality Assurance.

• Mandatory 3+ years of hands-on experience specifically testing a Loan Origination System (LOS) or other core banking/financial services applications.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Test Case Design Techniques.

• Expertise in writing and executing SQL queries for database validation.

• Hands-on experience with API Testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).

• Proficiency with Test Management and Defect Tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, ALM). • Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies. • Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools is a distinct advantage.

Domain & Soft Skills

• Excellent understanding of Loan Origination processes, calculations and associated documentation.
