Job Description

About time.money

We're a SEBI-registered investment advisory platform helping retail investors win financially through disciplined, long-term wealth building. Our approach combines behavioural insights with technologythink AI-powered conversations, goal-based planning, and a unified wealth dashboard. We're bootstrapped, growing, and building for a large market with high visibility.

The Role

You'll be our first QA hire, building the entire test automation infrastructure from the ground up. You'll report directly to the Co-founder & CTO and own everythingfrom setting up the testing framework to CI/CD pipelines to ensuring every release is rock solid. This isn't a run someone else's test suite role. You'll architect how we test, what we test, and how fast we can ship with confidence.

We're a fintech platform handling sensitive financial data, complex payment flows, OTPs, KYC verification, and third-party integrations. Things break in interesting ways. Your job is to catch them before users do.

What You'll Do

  • Build test infrastructure from scratch There's no existing framework. You'll set up the entire test automation architecture using Playwright and TypeScriptmodular, reusable, and built to scale as the product grows.
  • Own CI/CD for testing Set up and maintain GitHub Actions pipelines. Tests should run on every PR, every deploy. Developers should know within minutes if they broke something.
  • Test complex fintech workflows Payment flows, OTP handling, KYC verification, webhook callbacks, third-party API integrations. These aren't simple CRUD flowsyou'll need to think through edge cases that involve timing, retries, and external dependencies.
  • Cover APIs end-to-end Test internal APIs and external third-party integrations. Validate JSON responses against schemas. Ensure contracts don't break silently.
  • Handle secrets properly Work with AWS Secrets Manager for test credentials. Security isn't optional when you're dealing with financial data.
  • Test across platforms and browsers Web on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Brave. Desktop on Windows, Linux, MacOS. Tablet browsers on Android and iOS. You'll ensure consistency across all of them.
  • Make tests independent and parallelizable Each module, each API, each browser, each platform should be testable independently. No flaky interdependencies.
  • Work alongside engineering You're not a gatekeeper. You're part of the team. Catch issues early, give fast feedback, and help developers ship with confidence.
  • Test existing features and new ones There's coverage to catch up on, and new features shipping regularly. You'll balance both.

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5 years of experience in QA With at least 2-3 years focused on test automation. You've built and maintained test suites, not just executed manual test cases.
  • Strong Playwright and TypeScript skills This is non-negotiable. You should be comfortable writing clean, modular test code that other engineers can read and extend.
  • Fintech experience is mandatory You've tested financial products before. You understand payment flows, transaction states, reconciliation edge cases, and why a 0.01 discrepancy matters.
  • API testing expertise REST APIs, JSON schema validation, handling authentication tokens, testing third-party integrations. You've done this at depth.
  • Experience with complex async flows OTPs, webhooks, callbacks, polling for status changes. You know how to test things that don't return immediately.
  • CI/CD setup experience You've configured GitHub Actions (or similar) for automated test runs. You understand pipeline triggers, parallelization, and reporting.
  • Cross-browser and cross-platform testing You've dealt with the pain of browser inconsistencies and platform-specific bugs.
  • Security-conscious mindset You're handling test credentials, PII, and financial data. You know how to manage secrets and won't hardcode passwords in test files.
  • Self-directed problem solver You're the first QA hire. There's no senior QA to ask. You'll need to figure things out, make decisions, and own the outcomes.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AWS services (Secrets Manager, Lambda, S3, AppConfig, SQS, API Gateway)
  • Tablet browser testing on Android and iOS
  • Performance or load testing experience
  • Familiarity with contract testing (Pact or similar)
  • Experience testing webhook integrations with tools like ngrok
  • Contributions to testing frameworks or open-source test tooling

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Health, accident, and life insurance
  • Access to paid AI tools
  • Flexible startup culture with real opportunities to learn and grow quickly
  • High-impact work on a product built for millions
  • Direct exposure to fintech infrastructure, security practices, and complex system design
