Staff Engineer- Quality Automation
NeoITO is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer – Quality Automation to lead quality engineering strategy, automation architecture, and operational excellence across the organization. This role requires deep technical expertise in automation frameworks, testing strategy, CI/CD quality gating, and end-to-end quality governance across the entire SDLC. The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader who can architect scalable testing systems, mentor QA teams, and collaborate with Principal Engineers to build a world-class QA engineering culture.

Key Responsibilities
1. QA Architecture Design & Implementation
- Develop and maintain QA architectural artifacts including testing systems, feedback loops, reporting, and integration layers.
- Document quality control mechanisms across the SDLC, including where and why specific test strategies are applied.
- Define scalable, maintainable automation architectures for Web, Mobile, API, Data Engineering, and AI workloads.
- Own and contribute to Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) for quality engineering initiatives.
2. QA Engineering Standards, Policies & Tooling
- Enable the organization to adopt and adhere to QA engineering policies, standards, and procedures.
- Strengthen CI/CD pipelines through proper environment configuration, automation, and quality feedback loops.
- Evaluate, select, and govern backend QA tooling and frameworks based on performance, scalability, and compliance needs.
- Provide consultancy on technology choices and testing platforms aligned with technical and quality requirements.
3. QA Operations & Automation Excellence
- Lead quality automation initiatives across enterprise and eCommerce projects.
- Own and enhance Integration, Acceptance, Performance, and Security testing platforms.
- Train teams to distinguish meaningful, high-value tests from redundant or low-value tests across testing layers.
- Promote API and Web automation as core pillars of the automation strategy.
4. Strategic Quality Leadership & Evangelism
- Drive best-in-class QA strategies with a strong customer-centric mindset.
- Collaborate with Principal Engineers and cross-functional leaders to advocate for quality automation needs.
- Lead knowledge transfer, mentoring, and training to strengthen QA engineering maturity across the organization.
- Champion shift-left practices to embed quality control throughout the development lifecycle.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise
- Extensive hands-on experience with leading automation frameworks and tools such as:
- Appium, WebDriverIO, Selenium, JMeter, Chrome Lighthouse, Karate Labs, BrowserStack, etc.
- Applied knowledge of SAP products (S/4, Commerce Cloud/Hybris) is a plus.
- Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and related frameworks.
- Expert-level understanding of test strategy, test case design, planning, execution, and reporting.
- Experience working with test management tools like Zephyr or equivalent.
- Strong ability to define and implement Web & API automation strategies that shorten feedback loops and strengthen quality gates.
Engineering & DevOps Alignment
- Proven experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines; strong advocate for Shift-Left testing.
- Experience working with ITSM practices (ITIL v4) including change, incident, problem, and knowledge management.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a major plus.
- Ability to move beyond functional testing into non-functional testing (performance, security, scalability, usability).
Professional Skills
- Ability to understand customer needs and build testing strategies that reflect their concerns and expectations.
- Strong diagramming and documentation skills (Miro, Figjam, Diagrams.net, Mermaid.js).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.
