Role overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright, TypeScript, and BDD frameworks to design, develop, and maintain scalable UI and API automation solutions.

This role will focus on building robust automation frameworks, validating critical product workflows, ensuring data accuracy across systems, and integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines for enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate will combine deep automation engineering capabilities with strong debugging, collaboration, and framework ownership.

Key responsibilities:

1. Automation framework development

• Design, develop, and maintain UI and API automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Implement BDD automation using Cucumber.
• Build reusable page objects, services, and testing utilities for scalable automation.

2. Test execution and validation

• Automate critical business workflows, dashboards, and analytics scenarios.
• Validate UI data against APIs and database responses for end-to-end accuracy.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for failures and maintain detailed reporting using Allure.

3. CI/CD and quality integration

• Integrate automation suites with Azure DevOps pipelines for continuous testing.
• Support release readiness through automated regression, validation, and deployment verification.
• Contribute to framework optimization, maintainability, and automation best practices.

4. Cross-functional collaboration

• Collaborate with QA, development, and product teams to identify high-impact automation opportunities.
• Participate in technical discussions and support continuous quality improvements across teams.

Required technical skills and competencies:

• 6+ years of QA Automation experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on Playwright experience.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript / JavaScript.
• Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
• API automation and validation expertise.
• Azure DevOps pipeline integration experience.
• Strong debugging and test design capabilities.

Good to have skills:

• SQL knowledge for backend/data validation.
• Experience mentoring junior QA engineers.
• Experience working across multi-product or enterprise application ecosystems.
• Familiarity with large-scale automation frameworks and quality engineering practices.

Must have skills:

• Strong hands-on expertise in Playwright, TypeScript/JavaScript, Cucumber BDD, and API automation.
• Proven experience building scalable UI/API automation frameworks and integrating them with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of dynamic web application testing, locator strategies, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
• Excellent collaboration, problem-solving, and automation framework ownership capabilities.
