Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance & Test Analyst specializing in Cloud Data Warehousing to validate large-scale data platforms and ensure data quality, accuracy, and performance across modern cloud environments such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Databricks, or AWS Redshift.
In this role, you will test ETL pipelines, data transformations, and BI reports, working closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, reliable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to understand requirements for cloud data solutions.
- Design and execute test cases for ETL workflows, data pipelines, and cloud data warehouses.
- Perform data validation and reconciliation testing across:
- Source systems
- ETL processes
- Cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Databricks).
- Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate transformations, loads, and schema integrity.
- Test BI dashboards and reports to ensure data accuracy and visual correctness using:
- Tableau
- Power BI
- ThoughtSpot.
- Use ETL and BI test automation tools to enable repeatable and scalable testing.
- Conduct basic performance testing and validate query optimization for large datasets.
- Log, track, and manage defects using Jira, Azure DevOps, or test management tools.
- Automate data validation using Python, dbt tests, or custom frameworks.
- Work in Agile/Scrum environments, participating in sprint ceremonies.
- Mentor junior QA team members and promote cloud testing best practices.
Requirements & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in QA/testing, with strong focus on Data Warehousing & ETL testing.
- Hands-on experience with at least one cloud data warehouse:
- Snowflake
- AWS Redshift
- Azure Synapse
- Databricks.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation, reconciliation, and analysis.
- Experience testing ETL processes and cloud data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience validating BI reports using Tableau, Power BI, or ThoughtSpot.
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, snowflake schema).
- Experience with defect management tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or TestRail.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred / Good to Have
- Hands-on experience with Python for automated data testing.
- Exposure to Apache Airflow or dbt.
- Experience with Big Data tools like Spark, Hive, or Kafka.
- Performance testing using JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Certifications: Snowflake, AWS, Azure, ISTQB (added advantage).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for test automation in cloud environments.
