Job Description:

SoftClouds is looking for a hands-on Senior QA Engineer with strong Functional and Automation expertise and a quality-first, breakthrough mindset to join our QA team.
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Developers, Product Owners, and Managers across multiple teams. We are seeking someone who is flexible to work in a dynamic environment, highly detail-oriented, technically strong, and passionate about delivering quality. The candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills, strong ownership, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Hands on experience in designing and developing Test cases using various Test case techniques (positive, negative, and edge cases).
  
• Execute and manage test cases in Test Management tools (Zephyr, ADO, or similar) and generate release-wise test reports.
  
• Experience to prepare for Test Strategy, Test plan, Metrics and Test Reports
  
• Perform end-to-end testing across UI, API, and Database layers & delivery overall QA function.
  
• Perform API Testing (Postman/REST clients), validate request-response, and extract/validate values.
  
• Write strong SQL queries to validate data, fetch records, and compare results.
  

Strong knowledge & Experience in automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, or similar and in building an automation framework.

• Should be able to build Functional Test case packs and build Automation scripts for the same.
  
• Apply and differentiate between exploratory testing, Smoke, Sanity, regression testing, Shift left and re-testing.
  
• Ensure test coverage and traceability through RTM and proper defect management.
  
• Contribute to Agile/Scrum ceremonies and ensure QA deliverables are met within sprint timelines.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  
• Provide on-call support for major releases and outages when needed.
  
• Take complete ownership of QA deliverables as an individual contributor.
  
• Analytical thinking - can link hints gathered from conversations and own research together to be able to come up with meaningful tests
  
• Work with SoftClouds and customer teams to understand all business requirements and document the same.
  
• Understands the SDLC and STLC concepts and Implement
  
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
  

Requirements:

78 years of strong experience in Functional Testing with experience in understanding functional requirements and application workflows.

Good communication skills to articulate and communicate to customers.

Proven ability to write effective test cases and execute them through Test Management tools.

Strong expertise in API Testing (Postman/REST) and Database Testing (SQL queries, validations).

Strong automation skills in tools (Selenium, Playwright, or similar) and automation framework.

Good understanding of Agile/Scrum principles and practices.

Experience with defect management and application lifecycle tools (JIRA, Git, TFS, etc.).

Knowledge/experience in Non-Functional Testing (Load Testing, Cross Browser Testing) is a plus.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to manage time effectively and deliver within short development cycles.

Strong self-learning attitude, willingness to adopt new technologies/tools, and never-give-up mindset.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
