Senior Python Backend Developer

We are seeking a Senior Python Backend Developer with extensive experience in FastAPI, databases, and microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of backend development experience, demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, and be comfortable collaborating directly with clients to gather requirements and drive the development process. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Architect and implement microservices-based solutions, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, DevOps engineers, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and performance tuning (SQL and NoSQL).
• Lead a team of developers, mentor junior team members, and oversee code quality through code reviews.
• Gather and analyze technical and business requirements directly from clients and stakeholders.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology strategy.
• Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, security, and deployment.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in backend development using Python.
• Strong experience with FastAPI or similar modern Python frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django REST Framework).
• Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, asynchronous programming, and API versioning.
• Solid knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
• Expertise in designing and building microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot production issues.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage tasks, and deliver projects on time.
• Insurance domain knowledge is preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Exposure to infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Prior experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
