Role Summary

The Senior Project / Process Draftsman is responsible for preparation, coordination, and control of GMP-compliant layouts and multidisciplinary drawings for pharmaceutical turnkey projects. The role ensures accurate translation of process requirements, GMP principles, and execution constraints into coordinated drawings covering architecture, civil, cleanroom systems (CRP/CRE), flooring, HVAC, electrical, utilities, fire & safety, and site development.

Key Responsibilities

1. GMP Layout Development & Process Coordination

  • Prepare and coordinate GMP-compliant facility layouts based on process narratives and URS.
  • Develop drawings reflecting material, personnel, waste, and equipment flows.
  • Ensure segregation, zoning, airlocks, and contamination control principles are incorporated.
  • Prepare and coordinate layouts incorporating Room Data Sheet (RDS) requirements.
  • Ensure layouts address cleanability, maintainability, and audit readiness.

2. Architectural & Cleanroom Systems Coordination

  • Prepare and coordinate CRP / CRE layouts, elevations, sections, and details.
  • Coordinate cleanroom components including doors, windows, pass boxes, covings, and ceilings.
  • Prepare and control pharma flooring layouts including zoning, slopes, coving, drains, and thresholds.
  • Ensure architectural detailing aligns with GMP requirements for flush finishes and sealed interfaces.

3. Civil, Structural & Level Coordination

  • Coordinate drawings with civil and structural teams for:
  • column grids, openings, pits, and equipment foundations
  • floor levels, ceiling levels, slopes, ramps, trenches, and drainage
  • Ensure constructible and execution-feasible design coordination.

4. Electrical Coordination (Lighting, Lux Levels & Power Points)

  • Coordinate electrical layouts at room level including:
  • lighting layouts reflecting lux level requirements as per room function
  • switch and socket layouts, equipment power points, and isolators
  • Ensure lighting and electrical coordination with cleanroom ceilings and service layouts.
  • Integrate GMP-appropriate fixtures and sealed electrical components where applicable.

5. MEP, HVAC & Utilities Interface Coordination

  • Coordinate layouts with HVAC and utility disciplines for:
  • AHU zoning, duct routing, terminal locations
  • clean and black utility corridors, shafts, and service routes
  • Identify and resolve inter-disciplinary clashes prior to drawing issue.

6. Plot Plan & Site Development Drawings

  • Prepare and coordinate plot plan and site development drawings including:
  • building footprint, access roads, setbacks, and circulation
  • finished ground levels, stormwater drainage, trenches, and manholes
  • utility corridors, fire tender movement, parking and turning radii
  • Ensure alignment between site levels and building finished floor levels.

7. Vendor Drawing Review & Integration

  • Review and integrate vendor drawings for:
  • CRP / CRE systems, doors, windows, pass boxes
  • flooring systems, ceilings, cleanroom accessories, lighting fixtures
  • Ensure vendor submissions align with approved layouts and GMP intent.
  • Track drawing comments, revisions, and closures.

8. Site Support & As-Built Documentation

  • Provide drawing clarifications and revisions during execution.
  • Maintain accurate as-built drawings reflecting actual site installation.
  • Support drawing handover packages with registers and revision histories.

Drawing Responsibilities (Stage-Wise)

Concept Design

  • Process block layouts and zoning plans
  • Material, personnel, and waste flow layouts
  • Area classification and pressure cascade concepts
  • Concept plot plan and site circulation

Basic Engineering

  • Dimensioned GA layouts (process & architectural)
  • RDS-based layouts and zoning drawings
  • Basic CRP/CRE layouts and flooring zoning
  • Electrical lighting intent and socket coordination
  • Site development drawings with level coordination

Detailed Engineering

  • Detailed architectural and process layouts
  • CRP/CRE shop drawings and junction details
  • Flooring, ceiling, and penetration details
  • Electrical layouts coordinated with ceiling systems

As-built drawings

Experience

  • 712 years of experience in pharmaceutical, cleanroom, or healthcare projects.
  • Prior experience in pharma turnkey EPC or consultancy environments is mandatory.
  • Hands-on experience with GMP layouts, CRP/CRE coordination, and multidisciplinary drawings.

Skills & Tools

  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
  • BIM / Revit exposure preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GMP guidelines (WHO-GMP, EU-GMP, USFDA).
  • Excellent coordination, documentation, and revision control skills.
