The Opportunity

Sportskeeda is seeking a Product Manager wherein the role is to help set up the vertical at Sportskeeda including both Content and Product offerings relevant to the enthusiasts. He/ she will be responsible for growing content and revenue for the vertical at Sportskeeda.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product & Vertical Strategy Leadership

  • Define and execute the long-term product and content vision for the sports vertical.
  • Build scalable product features that enhance user engagement, retention, and monetization.
  • Identify whitespace opportunities and new growth levers (content formats, tools, community features, data integrations).
  • Translate audience insights into high-impact product enhancements.

2. P&L Ownership & Revenue Growth

  • Own revenue, traffic, and profitability targets for the vertical.
  • Drive monetization strategy across ads, affiliate, branded content, and emerging revenue streams.
  • Optimize yield, session depth, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Build quarterly and annual business plans aligned with company growth objectives.

3. Cross-Functional Product Execution

  • Partner with Tech, SEO, Analytics, Growth, and Content teams to execute the roadmap.
  • Liaise with external data providers and partners to enhance product offerings.
  • Ensure SEO excellence across On-Page, Off-Page, and Technical initiatives.
  • Lead experimentation (A/B testing, user behavior analysis, funnel optimization).

4. Competitive & Market Intelligence

  • Benchmark against global competitors and identify actionable gaps.
  • Build defensible content authority through product differentiation.
  • Monitor industry shifts in sports media, fan engagement, and digital monetization.

5. Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Hire, mentor, and scale a global team of Product Managers, Editors, and Writers.
  • Establish performance frameworks and content quality benchmarks.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, experimentation, and data-driven decision making.

6. Data-Driven Growth & Optimization

  • Own traffic growth strategy (SEO, discover, referral, partnerships).
  • Use analytics to identify user behavior patterns and growth bottlenecks.
  • Establish dashboards and KPI tracking for real-time performance management.

Requirements

  • 710+ years of experience in product management, growth, or content-led digital businesses.
  • Proven track record of scaling content verticals or digital products for large publishers.
  • Strong understanding of SEO (On-Page, Off-Page, Technical) and content authority building.
  • Demonstrated experience owning revenue targets and driving monetization.
  • Strong analytical mindset with expertise in data-led decision-making.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in fast-paced digital environments.
  • Passion for sports and deep understanding of fan behavior and digital consumption trends.
