Senior Product Manager, Digital Business (Viewership Experience)

SonyLIV is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Product Manager to tead initiatives that enhance the viewership experience across SonyLIV s OTT platform. This role will focus on creating seamless, engaging, and personalized experiences for millions of users across devices, ensuring that SonyLIV remains the preferred destination for premium entertainment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the Viewership Experience Roadmap: Define and execute product strategies to improve overall streaming experience.
• User-Centric Design: Leverage user research, analytics, and feedback to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement in the viewing journey.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, data science, and Operations teams to deliver high-quality features on time.
• Performance Metrics: Define KPIs such as engagement, watch time, Play%, Rebuffering ratio, Avg. Bitrates, retention, and NPS; monitor and optimize them continuously.
• Innovate for Scale: Drive initiatives like adaptive streaming, low-latency playback, and interactive features for live and VOD content.

What Makes This Role Unique

• Blend of UX and Technical Expertise: Having technical aptitude to drive roadmap for streaming strategy including encoding, evaluating quality and size of stream as well as the player experience across mobile, connected TV and web.
• Think Big for Scale: Ability to design solutions that can handle massive concurrency spikes, such as an India vs Pakistan cricket match, ensuring seamless playback and zero downtime.
• Systems Thinking: Understand streaming architecture, CDN optimization, adaptive bitrate streaming, and caching strategies to deliver a world-class experience under extreme load conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience: 810 years in product management, preferably in OTT, or consumer tech.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
• Technical Understanding: Familiarity with streaming technologies, CDN, adaptive bitrate, and ad tech.
• Leadership: Ability to influence and drive consensus across multiple stakeholders.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering/technology; MBA preferred.
• Inclination: Consumes a lot of content on OTTs.
