Develops and manages activities for a specific product or group of products from definition and planning through production, release and end of life. Helps guide product vision and strategy. Serves as a central resource between Sales, support services, Engineering, Marketing and the customer as product(s) move from design to release. Involved in all stages of the product lifecycle, including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line. Strives to understand customer needs and create game changing technology / product innovations.
Responsibilities
- Provides Product Management support within an assigned product area or customer base.
- Partners with marketing, research, customer solutions and business stakeholders to understand customer / product-specific expectations and requirements.
- Proactively analyzes / monitors KPIs to ensure achievement of success metrics.
- Assists with management of more complex aspects of existing products / product lines within stable markets.
- Engages with cross-functional stakeholders and business partners, to ensure product vision addresses: Marketplace access, Key features and functionality requirements, Service and support requirements, Key accounts and prospects.
- Evaluates customer / market / financial data, identifying emerging patterns, trends and problems and recommends strategies and approaches for resolution.
- Collaborates cross-functionally to evaluate opportunities with a promise of positive product / product line impact.
Qualifications
Expertise
- Strong leadership and the ability to work effectively in a matrix managed organization
- Familiarity with consumer facing, physical banking systems and payment applications
- Ability to rapidly assess market requirements to identify gaps and revise tactics to ensure alignment with consumer demand
- Exposure to service models for the maintenance and repair of complex hardware and software solutions
- General domain understanding of banking world major players, roles in managing an ATM network (issuer, acquirer, processor)
You are responsible for
- Support current and legacy supporting products used across Banking by representing business / customer / regulatory needs to the Product Engineering team
- Engage with both internal and customers to foster greater input, collaboration, and customer reference
- Help identify our clients business and technical needs and translate into product backlog and releases
- Manage the lifecycle of several products from grow, maintain, to retire
- Build appropriate business cases to support appropriate levels of investment in future product releases
- Contribute to a prioritized backlog in close alignment with other Product Managers and Product Owners
- Occasionally develop user stories, define acceptance criteria and set sprint goals
- Work with Product Engineering and Professional Services teams located in the United States, Canada, Germany, Poland, India etc.
- Build strong relationships across all involved stakeholders
- Drive effective dependency and product interlock with other banking software teams
- Effective Project Management skills to help communicate, manage, and maintain the backlog
- Act as an effective liaison between engineering, product management and professional services
- Ensure on-time and under-budget delivery of high quality software products that accelerate growth for Diebold Nixdorf.
- Track profitability (cost and revenue) throughout the life cycle
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field required
- 4+ years of experience as a product and program manager (flavors of both required)
- Experience working with large-scale engineering projects, which included cross-functional resources, on time and within budget
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically to solve business and technical problems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong organizational skills with a good sense of judgment to prioritize what needs to get done
- Ability to negotiate features/requirements with stakeholders
- Self-starter and ability to work independently
- Able to travel to other DN centers in other countries when necessary
- Able to work extended hours, on occasion, to align with teams in other global locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of banking technology
- Experience with financial modelling and developing business cases
- Experience supporting product lifecycle from release to end of life
- Experience in one or more areas of product delivery enablement, customer projects, sales and revenue readiness, sales enablement and order to cash processes for software products.
- Experience working in a multi-country international environment
